FAQs

How high do we fly?

We fly anywhere from treetop level to about 3000 feet. If it's calm enough and clear enough, we can go even higher.

Is it windy in the balloon?

No. Since we are moving with the wind, you won't feel a breeze at all.

Is it cold in the balloon?

No. The temperatures aloft are about the same as they are on the ground. It might be an idea to have something warmer for after we've landed though, especially after the evening flight. We ask that you wear long trousers and no open toed shoes.

When do we fly?

We fly generally April till October, twice a day. The first flight is half an hour after sunrise and the second about two and a half hours before sunset. This is when the winds are calmest.

What if we get bad weather?

All flights are weather permitting. If you schedule a morning flight, please call at 10 PM the night before. For the afternoon flights, please call at 1 PM on the day of the flight. When you call, we will have the forecast for launch time. In the event of unsuitable weather conditions, you will be asked to contact the booking office to reschedule for another day.

Where do we land?

Your pilot will choose a landing site that is large enough to land, deflate and pack up the balloon. The sooner the balloon is packed away, the sooner you will be able to indulge in a glass of champagne. You will then be presented with your very own flight certificate and have an opportunity to purchase an in-flight photograph.

How do we get back to the launch field?

We are in constant radio contact with our crew on the ground. When we land, they will be there waiting for us. Once the balloon is loaded back on the trailer, our chase vehicle will take you back to the launch site. If you have your friends and family following the balloon, you will be welcome to leave the landing site with them. Please ask your friends and family not to enter the landing site until our ground crew has a permission from the landowner.

Can I bring the camera?

Of course. A camera or a camcorder is a must for a balloon flight. We ask that you listen to the pilot's instructions on stowing your equipment for take-off and landing.
